Topcoat Paint Kitchen This is the mix room where top coat paints are prepared/blended prior to being applied (by spray guns) to the car body (post E-Coat). The kitchen will have a number of mixing vessels containing basecoats, primers, clearcoat, metallic and mica based paints. All are filtered on flow lines (prior to spray painting) and many also on return lines. Typical Products used: DuoLine filter bags 50 – 250µm, SupaSpun II filter cartridges 150 – 180µm (for Mica / Metallics) 50 - 70µm (Primers) 70 - 90µm (Basecoat & Clearcoats), SupaPleat MP filter cartridges 250 – 450µm (for Mica / Metallics – where spun bonded filter blocks quickly due to high pigment levels in paint). |
