Oil Refineries Hydrocarbon refining processes produce contaminants (typically water & hydrogen sulphide) that must be removed in order to improve the quality of the product, and to protect the refinery itself from the corrosive nature of the contaminants. During the contaminant removal process a chemical is used to strip the contaminant from the product. This chemical is typically an ethylene or diethylene glycol for water and amine for hydrogen sulphide. It is imperative to keep the amine/glycol loops clean and contaminant free in order to avoid ‘foaming’ which significantly reduces the efficiency of the process. A clean system also reduces corrosion in the system and therefore extends equipment life and reduces downtime. Amazon produces filter housings of various sizes, styles and pressures for these duties, which are designed and built to the safety critical demands of this industry. Filters used are typically from our SupaSpun II, SupaPleat, Visclear and Contour ranges. |
