Primary Filtration

Primary filtration can be to remove visible particles (we normally take 50 micron, about the thickness of an average human hair, as being the smallest particle visible to the naked eye) or to ‘polish’ the filtrate (removal of smaller particles that wouldn’t be individually visible but which create a background haze).

For these applications we would recommend Amazon SupaSpun II cartridges for water filtration and Amazon SupaSpun II or SupaPleat II cartridges for the filtration of syrup or other viscous additives.

For most of these applications the Amazon 61 Series and 63 Series housings offer an ideal low cost solution, however where steaming or hot CIP is required, or for the filtration of syrup or other sugary or viscous additives (where a fully draining leg mounted housing design is preferred), the Amazon 62 Series and 64 Series housings should be considered. The Amazon 70 Series housings are also ideal for use here.
