First Point Assessment Limited (FPAL) is a Supplier/Purchaser Database and Web Portal for the Oil and Gas industry, established in 1996, and now forming part of Achilles Group Limited.

Their prime objective is to identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement throughout the supply chain. They are primarily concerned with bringing efficiencies in the procurement of goods and services by sharing better information and minimising duplication.

FPAL are guided by a steering committee comprising representatives of purchasers and suppliers. Although primarily UK based, FPAL is migrating to a more European application that has close association with the Oil and Gas industries in Norway, Denmark and The Netherlands.

The company maintains close links with industry bodies and other associated e-procurement services (such as Trading Exchanges, LOGIC, Industry Trade Associations etc) and provides access to their services via its web portal.
